Damariscotta Newcastle 4th of July

Now, this is what a quart of strawberries is supposed to look like! Juicy, sweet and red all the way through the berry. The strawberries started to show up at the farm stands, and by the side of Rte. 1, about a week ago

In two short weeks it is July 4. The fireworks can be viewed from the backyard of the inn while you enjoy Strawberry Shortcake made with these lovely berries.

I never understand why, at the height of the strawberry season here in WI, our grocery stores carry strawberries from California. Yet, I can drive 20 minutes to a huge Strawberry farm and pick my own. Your strawberries look spectacular.

Looking forward to seeing some ocean pictures soon.
